Modified UNIFAC (Dortmund) Matrix 2022

The diagram in this page shows the development of the interaction parameters and groups of the modified UNIFAC (Dortmund) method in the consortium from 1997 to 2022. Click or tap the diagram to see more details.

A recent development on the Modified UNIFAC (Dortmund) model was the introduction of several new flexible main groups. The introduction of the major part of the new groups was scheduled in cooperation with our consortium members, so that the great numbers of components, which can only be treated with the help of the new group interaction parameters, are of major industrial interest. In the section typical results series of exemples for the following new Modified UNIFAC (Dortmund) main groups are given:

  • Anhydrides
  • Sulfones
  • ACS (Thiophenes)
  • Refrigerants
  • Isocyanates
  • Sufides
  • Thiols
  • Pyridines
  • Epoxides
  • Lactones (Cyclic Esters)
  • Ketones
  • Carbonates
  • Disulfides
  • Polyethylene Glycol
  • Mercury
  • Glycerol
  • Diketones
  • Triamines
  • Thiazole
  • Hydrazine
  • Phosgene
  • Oxetane
  • Hydrogen cyanide
  • Borate, Borane, Boroxane
  • Ionic liquids, Phosphite, Phosphate

A great proportion of the group interaction parameters were fitted between 1985 and 1993. No SLE data and only few hE data were available. Thus the enlargement of the database during the last eighteen years offers the possibility to revise group interaction parameters to cover a larger pressure, temperature and concentration range.
